Victor Popov
There is always a touch of painted art in Victor Popov’s sculptures. His concept of a work is rooted in the tradition of Suprematism and Constructivism, but at the same time we can note the influence of Cubism and Futurism. Popov’s sculptures provide dynamism and movement, but they are at the same time playful and balanced in a formal language that the sculptor uses in order to break away from tradition.
Born 1952 in eastern Kazakhstan.
1974-79 studying art in Lvov, Ukraine.
1980-84 Novosibirsk, 1985-91 St Petersburg. In Dusseldorf since 1991.
